Toast workflows belong in the SOP
Comps, voids, and splits fail when POS steps live in someone's head. Put them next to the procedure.
POS mistakes are expensive because the steps are invisible. Someone remembers a sequence from training six months ago, or invents one under pressure. The SOP says “comp the item,” but never says which Toast screens to touch.
When the workflow lives next to the policy — with a short video and a watch-outs list — comps and voids stop being folklore. New servers execute the same path as veterans. Managers coach exceptions instead of re-teaching the basics.
Integrations matter, but clarity matters more. Put the Toast steps where the procedure already lives.
